Nice Day for Play!

The pups took advantage of the beautiful day and had lots of playtime outside today!

Best Buds

Abby and our terrier Mamah are best buds. They LOVE to play together! Mamah is a feisty little one, but Abby is always careful and super gentle with her.

Nom Nom Breakfast!

Abby loves to eat! She used to get nervous that people or pups might take her food, but not anymore! Now she eats with the other pups and shares her food like a good girl. She also sits like a lady when she eats, which I find adorable.

Abby and Ceena

Former foster dog Ceena is visiting while her family is on vacation. Normally Ceena is quite a lazy girl, but even she can't resist Abby wanting to play!

Hugs!

Once Abby knows you, she is a baby doll! She loves to be hugged and held in your arms. We might be spoiling her a little... :)

Say What?!

Abby has the cutest little head tilt whenever we talk to her. She is always very attentive and super cute.

Abby is always happy to be with you, even if it's just hanging out on the couch. She is a sweetie.

Snuggles

Abby loves to snuggle on the couch with us while we drink our morning coffee. She makes a nice armrest too!

Our pup Apollo and Abby have become best buddies. He apparently makes a good pillow!

Spay Day!

Little Abby got spayed today so she is all set for her new home! She wears her cloud e-collar well!

Backpacking with Abby

Abby has lots and lots of energy! She loves to go and is a great hiking buddy. We went on a two hour hike in the neighborhood trails and Abby was kind enough to carry our snacks and water in her little pink backpack.

Abby walked well with our bigger pups and had lots of fun checking out the neighborhood between trails.

Belly Rubs!

Abby LOVES belly rubs! She will roll right over and it's as if she is about to giggle with delight. So cute!

When I met Abby...

Abby was a scared pup when I first met her at the NY Ave Shelter. As soon as I saw her shaking and scared in her kennel, my heart melted and I knew I just had to take her home. Every noise was terrifying and her face was full of worry. I opened up the gate to her kennel and sat down with a bag of tasty salmon treats. I tossed her one and her tail untucked while she gobbled it down. I held out another treat in my hand and she cautiously took it from me. I started to talk to her and her ears perked up while she licked my fingers. After we spent a little time getting acquainted, I put on her collar and attached the leash to take her outside for a walk to the yard. Abby became a different dog as she explored the yard. Her tail was wagging and she was smiling. After some time in the yard, we went inside to hang out in the office. Abby became super animated and goofy. She was jumping into my lap and giving me kisses. This was a happy dog! She just needed a place to feel safe and I was going to give that to her!

I signed the foster contract and away we went! Abby called shotgun and jumped right into the car next to me. She looked out the window and turned back to give me a goofy grin.

When we got home Abby got to meet our crazy pack of pups - a bossy JRT, a shy shepherd, and a goofy pit bull. She did well with introductions and was very attentive whenever we had to correct her. She was our little shadow and followed us everywhere for pets and ear scratches.

After a long day, Abby was all worn out! So she stretched out like a frog and took a nap. She is so stinking cute!
